Britney Spears has stood up in front of the arrival of her new single, "Hold Me Closer," which drops tomorrow, Aug. 26.

n a progression of tweets, the pop vocalist affirmed that she is "somewhat wrecked" by the looming tune, a coordinated effort with Elton John that denotes her first new music in quite a while.

"Damn cool I'm singing with one of the most exemplary men within recent memory," Spears shared.

She continued, "I'm learning normal is a new beginning to endeavor to be a predominant individual and do what satisfies me … yes I select euphoria today.

I let myself know every time to give up the hurt brutality and endeavor to exonerate myself as well as others to what would have been horrendous.

The vocalist closed the tweets with a confident feeling: "I opt for joy and delight today."

It’s unclear if the new single interpolates the song, or if it’s a separate project, though the words “hold me closer” are featured throughout the chorus of the John classic.
